Admission Requirements

Admission requirements are as follows:

  • Applicants must be a citizen of the United States or hold a Permanent Resident (Green) Card.
  • Applicants must be 16 years of age or older and have proof of age with a current government issued identification card.
  • Applicants must have a Social Security card for the school to copy.
  • Applicants must have a high school diploma, GED certificate, or a high school transcript or its equivalent. We do not accept ability-to-benefit students.
  • Applicants must pass the Entrance Exam with a grade of 75% or better prior to enrollment. The test is administered by staff.
  • Prospective English as a Second Language (ESL) students must have the ability to read, write and speak English at the level of a graduate of an American high school as demonstrated by the possession of a high school diploma, GED certificate, or successful completion of the California High School Proficiency Exam (CHSPE) of the California Education Code §48412 (a). This institution offers neither bilingual instruction nor provide interpreters.
  • No person shall be denied admission, graduation or any other rights and privileges due to sex, race, age, color, ethnic origin, religion, or sexual orientation.

Satisfactory Academic Progress

All students are required to maintain Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP) to remain enrolled in their course of study. Students who fall below SAP standards may be dropped from the course if performance does not improve.

Criteria for SAP:
  • Student maintains a 75% or better grade point average.
  • Student meets minimum attendance standards as defined in the course catalog.

Dress Code

Students are expected and required to maintain a clean and professional appearance at all times. Our dress code consists of solid black or blue denim jeans that are free of holes/rips/distressing or solid black slacks, closed-toe shoes and a Hoss Lee Academy Shirt. Please consult the school catalog for complete details regarding the dress code.
