About the Role

The Cosmetology Educator teaches theory and practical skills, mentors students, and prepares graduates for the state licensing exam, all while modeling the professionalism and culture Hoss Lee Academy is known for.

What You Will Do

• Follow the curriculum. Read, understand, and practice every policy in the student course catalog. Teach from the approved curriculum using the aids and handouts provided.
• Stay current. Learn and apply new teaching methods as they are introduced.
• Engage with enthusiasm. Project excitement, use proper grammar, and stay mindful of tone, volume, and clarity.
• Come prepared. Organize each class presentation in advance, instruct theory from the Milady textbook and company slide decks, and vary the stimuli during each presentation.
• Inspire and lead. Take pride in the work, stay fair and impartial, listen actively, and encourage independent thinking and research.
• Manage class dynamics. Redirect disruptive students by involving them and assigning leadership tasks. Conduct progress evaluations and academic counseling in line with academy policy.
• Prepare students. Ready graduating students for the state licensing exam and monitor compliance with academy standards and state regulations.
• Stay available. Remain accessible to students and attend staff meetings as scheduled.
• Maintain certification. Keep the Cosmetology or Esthetics license current and complete continuing education on schedule.

What You Need

• A current Cosmetology license. Required. An Esthetics license is welcome for the relevant course tracks.
• Saturday availability. The teaching week runs Tuesday to Saturday.
• Ability to commute. On campus in Roseville, CA 95661.
