ESTHETICS | 600 HOUR COURSE

Become an Esthetician at Hoss Lee Academy

The Esthetics course at HLA covers all technical and practical subjects of Skin Care as required by the California State Board of Barbering and Cosmetology.

Our curriculum provides comprehensive training in Manual, Chemical, and Electrical Facials, Eyebrow Arching and Waxing, Body Waxing, and Makeup Theory and Application.

Students also learn advanced facial treatments, including Chemical and Enzyme Exfoliations, Acne and Anti-Aging Treatments, and Microdermabrasion.

Students use Milady CIMA, the newest digital learning platform in the beauty industry, for interactive theory lessons, online testing, and flexible learning tools.

This ensures learners—including post-COVID students, adult learners, and students with IEPs—have the support and resources they need to succeed.

Strategic partnerships with Dermalogica®, Mirabella®, Cirepil®, and RefectoCil® give students access to advanced education on the latest spa procedures and professional techniques. Students also have opportunities throughout the year to participate in local theatrical productions, fashion shows, and community service events, gaining experience in Special FX makeup, theatrical hairstyling, wig making, and artificial beard application.

All esthetics students rotate through HLA’s exclusive Business Training Course for salon and spa professionals, equipping them with essential skills to succeed in the business side of the beauty industry.

Students also benefit from the Big Life Journal course, designed to help them view challenges as learning opportunities and build confidence in their ability to grow and improve—supporting both personal and professional development.

We are committed to ensuring that students are fully prepared and confident when taking their licensing examination. Upon successful completion of the course, students receive a Diploma, Proof of Training Document, and are qualified to take the California State Board Esthetics examination. Upon passing the required written exam, the California State Board of Barbering and Cosmetology will issue a state license.
